National Theatre Live

NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE

National Theatre Live launched in June 2009 with a broadcast of the National Theatre production of Phèdre with Helen Mirren. We’ve since broadcast more than fourty other productions live, from both the National Theatre and from other theatres around the world.  Our broadcasts have now been experienced by over 5.5 million people in over 2,000 venues around the world.  Exhibition dates and cinema locations are added frequently. In Australia, the plays are captured live in HD, and screened concurrently, where possible, with the London National Theatre season.

Nye

From campaigning at the coalfield to leading the battle to create the National Health Service, Aneurin ‘Nye’ Bevan is often referred to as the politician with greatest influence over the UK without ever being Prime Minister.
Confronted with death, Aneurin ‘Nye’ Bevan’s deepest memories lead him on a mind-bending journey back through his life; from childhood to mining underground, Parliament and fights with Churchill.
Written by Tim Price and directed by Rufus Norris (Small Island), this epic new Welsh fantasia will be filmed live at the National Theatre in London.
